COACHING FAQ

What is coaching?

Sometimes presented as “life coaching” or “business coaching,” coaching is a highly focused conversation that will help you find your next actionable step toward reaching your goals. You decide what goals you want to pursue, how many coaching sessions you need, and how frequently you prefer to meet with your coach.

What can coaching help me with?

Coaching can help you with anything you want to achieve in life. Work goals, improving relationships, getting your life together, achieving your dreams, you name it.

Coaching can help you get unstuck when you’ve hit a roadblock.

It can help you take charge of your situation and make real progress.

Who is coaching for?

Coaching is for anyone who wants greater motivation, energy, and clarity to move forward in making their aspirations a reality. As a resident of Liberty Park Terrace, you can schedule coaching sessions with Community Center Director Virgiliana Pickering, completely free of charge. Email virgiliana@libertyparkcenter.org or call the office, 509-534-0957.

How long is a coaching session?

25 minutes is typical, but it depends. If all you need is a little encouragement, it might take as little as 15 minutes. If you need to consider something very deeply, it could take up to 50 minutes.

Is coaching like therapy?

A similarity with therapy is that coaching is totally non-judgemental. Your coach is dedicated to providing an emotionally safe context for your conversation. That said, coaching is not therapy. Coaching is not designed to help you directly with mental health issues. But if you have a goal of resolving mental health issues, coaching can help you determine your next actionable step toward that goal.
